Itinerary Humantay Lake Tour from Cusco
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 am and 4:30 am. We will drive through the local communities of Izcuchaca and Limatambo. Upon arriving at Mollepata (approximately 3 hours), we will have a nutritious breakfast. Then, we will head to Soraypampa (3,900 meters / 12,800 feet) and start our hike to the famous Humantay Lake.
After 1 hour and 30 minutes of hiking, we will reach the lagoon located at 4,220 meters / 13,850 feet, offering an impressive view of its turquoise waters and the incredible snow-capped peaks of Humantay and Salkantay Mountains behind it, making it one of the most stunning places in the Andes Mountain Range.
We will take some time to admire the breathtaking views, and our local guide will explain the history and significance of this place. You will have plenty of time to explore this unique location on your own. We will descend to Soraypampa and take our transportation back for the semi-buffet lunch.
Finally, we will drive for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes back to Cusco, where we will drop you off at Plaza San Francisco.

- Transportation from your hotel near Cusco’s Historic Center to the starting point of the trek.
- Transportation back to Cusco (drop-off at Plaza San Francisco).
👥 Local Guides & Team
- English/Spanish-speaking professional guide.
- All our trekking guides have a minimum of 3 years of guiding experience and are certified. They carry a first aid kit and an extra oxygen bottle in case of emergencies.
📝 Tickets & Briefing
- Briefing: You will have a meeting with your guide in our office to go over all the details regarding your tour. The orientation will be between 17:00, 18:00 or 19:00 at our office in Cusco the day before departure.
