Itinerary
We begin our experience exploring the historic city of Cusco, the ancient capital of the powerful Inca Empire and one of the most fascinating destinations in South America.
Our tour starts at the impressive Plaza de Armas of Cusco, where we will visit the magnificent Cusco Cathedral, an architectural jewel that reflects the cultural fusion between Andean traditions and Spanish colonial heritage.
We continue to the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the most important religious center of the Inca Empire. According to ancient chronicles, its walls were once covered with sheets of gold and dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, making it one of the most sacred places of the Inca civilization.
Then, we head to the heights of Cusco to visit the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán, famous for its enormous perfectly fitted stone walls and its spectacular panoramic views of the city.
The visit continues to Qenqo, a ceremonial center where the Incas performed important religious rituals connected with nature, agriculture, and ancestral beliefs.
Finally, we explore Puca Pucará, known as the “Red Fortress” in Quechua, an archaeological complex believed to have served military and control functions during the Inca period. Nearby, we will visit Tambomachay, a ceremonial site associated with the worship of water and fertility.
At the end of the tour, we return to the historic center of Cusco, concluding our first day of adventure.
🌙 Overnight in Cusco.
After breakfast, we begin an exciting journey to the legendary Sacred Valley of the Incas, a privileged region where the natural beauty of the Andes blends perfectly with the history, culture, and architecture of one of the most important civilizations in America.
During this tour, we will visit impressive archaeological sites and traditional Andean villages that continue preserving their ancestral customs and traditions.
Places We Will Visit:
🏔️ Chinchero
Known as the "Rainbow Village", Chinchero is famous for its traditional textile art, colorful handicraft markets, and its colonial church built on ancient Inca foundations.
🌿 Moray
A fascinating archaeological site formed by circular terraces, believed to have been used by the Incas as an advanced agricultural experimentation center.
🧂 Maras Salt Mines
An impressive collection of thousands of salt pools built on the mountain slopes, where local communities continue producing salt using traditional methods passed down through generations.
🏛️ Ollantaytambo
The last living Inca city, famous for its original streets, ancient water channels, and its impressive archaeological fortress that once protected this strategic area of the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon, we will board the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, the charming town located at the foot of Machu Picchu mountain.
🌙 Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
After breakfast, we begin our visit to one of the modern wonders of the world: the legendary Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu.
