O Salkantay Trek é conhecido por seus paisagens diversificados e espetaculares, que incluem montanhas nevadas, lagunas e selva tropical. Tipicamente dura 5 dias e cobre aproximadamente 74 km (46 milhas). Ao contrário do Caminho Inca, não requer obter permissões com muita antecedência e é menos regulamentado, oferecendo mais flexibilidade. Alcança maiores altitudes, com o ponto mais alto sendo o Passo Salkantay a 4.650 metros (15.200 pés) acima do nível do mar.
O Caminho Inca é famoso por suas antigas ruínas incas, caminhos pavimentados com pedras e túneis. É uma rota rica em história, seguindo o mesmo caminho que os incas usavam há séculos. Soraypampa is the first base camp located in Cusco, Peru, at an altitude of 3,900 meters above sea level.

“I did the 5 days Salkantay trek with my spouse. I learned so much about Peru, thanks to our wonderful guide, Ronald. Although the hike was intense, Ronald was patient with the group and helpful every step of the way. We finished the trek feeling exhausted but also proud and safe. The mountain scenery was beautiful and we learned about the indigenous cultures. The food, transportation and accommodation were good for the price we paid. Prepare for altitude sickness and be fit enough for this intense hike. I would definitely recommend Ronald as a guide. KB Adventures did a great job organising this trek.”
We did the 4 day Salkantay trek and it was perfect. The walking was tough at times but our guide Vidal was super supportive! We had never done a hiking trip like this before Vidal helped us feel comfortable and prepared for every day. Would definitely recommend this tour to both beginners (like us!) and experienced hikers. The trek itself was just as good if not better than Machu Picchu!
I would highly recommend. I did the 4 days trek with my wonderful girlfriend Alitza and although challenging definitely rewarding. Alfredo was a great host and guide, very knowledgeable, caring, and experienced. I have never trekked through the mountains and a piece of the Amazon rain forest all in a matter of days. You can really connect with nature and the people on the trek. If you’re considering, do it.
Well what can I say!! What a beautiful trek- had the most wonderful time meeting up with the most fantastic people. The trek was a challenge but the views were worth it and KB were great with being present and supportive in making sure we had a great experience. Special shout out to JP, our tour leader- he was brilliant throughout. So informative and make the trip truly fun, enjoyable and memorable as well as going above and beyond to keep things organised. Feeling grateful and would recommend KB!
