ITINERARY

DAY 1SACRED VALLEY FULL OF THE INCAS (PISAC & OLLANTAYTAMBO)

Our transfer staff will pick you up at 8:00/8:30am at the Cathedral of Cusco in Plaza de Armas, so we can start our journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, driving along the Urubamba river. We will first visit the archaeological site of Pisac, which is a complex of terraces, fountains, observatories and a necropolis. We will admire spectacular views of the Sacred Valley, and our local guide will share his knowledge about the Inca history and culture. The Inca site is built on top of a mountain that towers over the small town of Pisac; the views of the countryside are spectacular and the ruins are remarkable. We will then visit the artisanal market of Pisac and continue our journey to Ollantaytambo. The Inca complex of Ollantaytambo was built to protect the valley from invasions from the rainforest. In the afternoon, we will take our transportation back to your hotel in Cusco.

Our guide Rubén Zavala was fantastic, always in a great mood, spoke great English and looked after everyone in our group, making sure we were all ok throughout the days. I really cannot recommend him highly enough. Thanks Rubén!

The scenery throughout was amazing, the food was good and I met some great people. 🙂
